Hello, KPort
This is the first post on the new site.
The old version of keenanakit.com lived on Adobe Portfolio. It loaded, it worked, it showed photos. It also looked like every other Adobe Portfolio site: same template, same serif font, same grid.
KPort is the replacement. On a desktop with a mouse, it’s a Windows 98 desktop. You can open Photos in a draggable window, drag Projects next to it, minimize one and open Notepad to read what I wrote. There’s a boot sequence the first time you visit. The 404 page is a Blue Screen of Death.
On a phone, none of that. It’s a fast, photo-first portfolio. Big images. Cards for projects. A list of posts. The retro touch is just a chunky Tahoma header and the button style. Mobile traffic is real, so mobile gets the content, not the gimmick.
Stack: Astro 6 for static and routing, React 19 islands for the desktop shell, GSAP 3.15 for motion and dragging, Zustand 5 for window state, 98.css for the chrome, Cloudflare Pages for hosting.
The plan is eight weekends. This post lands at the end of Weekend 1. I’ll write again when something interesting breaks.
